About the role
As the Deputy General Counsel, you will serve as the "Second in Command" for our Legal Department. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, you will play a critical role in scaling our legal infrastructure during a period of rapid global expansion. Manage due diligence, deal structuring, and coordination with external counsel to ensure smooth execution at speed and scale. Equity & Options Management: Oversee the legal administration of our Employee Stock Option Plans (ESOP). Manage the legal aspects of grants, vestings, and exercises, ensuring compliance with local regulations across multiple jurisdictions. People & Employment Support : In partnership with the People function, advise on global employment structures, cross‑border employee arrangements, and incentive schemes. Provide pragmatic, scalable legal input to support our growing team. New Product Launches: Serve as the legal architect for new and evolving products. Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure new offerings are compliant, risk‑managed, and supported by clear customer‑facing documentation. Leadership & Ad Hoc Support : Partner closely with the CLPO on corporate governance, capital markets, and strategic legal projects. Lead and mentor members of the legal team and guide the use of external counsel. Global Compliance : Ensure LemFi remains ahead of the curve in a complex international regulatory environment (FCA, FINTRAC, AUSTRAC, etc.) as we expand across Europe and new global markets
Requirements
- A transactional legal expert: grounded in corporate and banking law, with deep experience executing complex financing and M&A transactions.
- Commercial and pragmatic: skilled at balancing risk with growth and getting to "yes" safely.
