Job Title Product Control Analyst Job Description Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Control & Analysis - A plausibility check of the calculated results; - Analysis of the traders' activity for regular products and within its portfolio; - Analysis of the prices used for valuation and comparison to market prices to ensure valid valuation; - Acts as sparring partner for the business, particularly regarding the valuation of the financial products; - Liaises with different departments involved as Operations, Market Risk, Control RI; - Questions or challenges the trader if results remain unclear or no agreement can be found. - Proactively addresses opportunities to optimize current operations and gives input to or initiates actions plans to the Team Lead or Manager that transcend the appointed activity areas; - Specifies and implements controls around new business and products; - Analysis of the impact of potential new trading activities within the portfolio besides analysis of existing traders activity within the portfolio. Reporting - Provides timely independent daily and monthly P&L reporting, P&L decomposition, Balance Sheets, General Ledger account certification, insight into risks relating to specific business processes and/or system performance issues. - Substantial time pressure is involved due to the size of the amounts and risks involved. - Due to the materiality of the business a timely reporting is essential to ensure a quick discovery of irregular positions and/or P&L which may impact the income and risk position of Rabobank International. - Ensures that the reported (front system based) figures and the General Ledger accounts are in line. Policies & procedures - Identifies bottlenecks in the operation concerning the appointed activity area and develops and proposes possibilities to the Team Leader or Manager for new or adapted reporting and/or accounting policies, guidelines and templates as well as proposing subsequent Performance Indicators and efficiency improvements; - Takes care of the execution and monitoring of reporting and/or accounting policies, guidelines and templates within the appointed activity area; - Gives pro-active advice, instructions and answers questions concerning for example processes and the reporting and/or accounting policies, guidelines and templates within the appointed activity area and/or new business. - Is involved in the approval process of new business proposals. - Improves policies and procedures on more complex activity areas. - Has in depth analytical knowledge on all guidelines, procedures, processes and systems. Can interpret them and explain them to others. - Stays up to date on latest developments in the finance and control environment with emphasis on relevant accounting and reporting developments i.e. IFRS, DNB. Projects - Identifies change requirements concerning the systems and applications used by the team. - Assists in the requirements preparation and documentation in relation to the (further) development and maintenance of these systems and applications; - Undertakes improvement projects concerning: procedures, systems or applications on his/her own initiative. - Initiates, participates in and contributes to Global projects; - Identifies problems and develops tactical solutions on his/her own initiative. - Identifies problems and specify structural solutions on own initiative in close relation with Sr. management Job Requirements: - Profound knowledge of (Brazilian) financial trading instruments and market risk. - Experience of working directly with traders and supporting Front Office staff. - Solid Excel and VBA experience in a financial institution. Access knowledge is a plus. - Interest in Global Financial Markets, Treasury related activities - Finance/Economics/Quantitative degree in a top university. - At least 1-4 years experience with working in a dynamic international environment. - A previous experience in product control services is definitely an asset. - Excellent English communication.
