Prior firm experience is required. Candidates must have a strong technical background in biomedical, mechanical, robotics, electrical/computer engineering or equivalent discipline. The position requires residence in the Boston office. Candidates must have experience in the following: Collaborating with clients to identify innovation and design strategies for patent protection Drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to medical devices and diagnostics Managing complex patent prosecution dockets Conducting patent landscape analysis and freedom to operate assessments Advising clients regarding patentability, validity, and infringement Performing IP due diligence in connection with VC investments and mergers and acquisitions Candidates must also have an excellent academic record, superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral), a demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service and a creative and strategic approach to prosecution. Candidates must be admitted to the patent bar, and associate candidates must be admitted to the Massachusetts Bar or eligible for admission to the Massachusetts Bar. The expected pay range for this position is: $130,000 to $270,000 annually Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
