Responsibilities

  • Own platform reliability and infrastructure scaling as we grow from pilot sites to hundreds of connected battery systems.
  • Contribute to data platform architecture - help shape how we ingest, store, and serve time-series data from battery systems and EMS integrations.
  • Optimize database performance for high-throughput telemetry data at scale.
  • Design monitoring and alerting logic for system health, timeseries data, and model performance in production.
  • Build and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for backend services on AWS.
  • Work closely with our data science team to bring models into production with a strong focus on robustness and real-world performance.

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of experience in backend engineering, infrastructure, or platform roles.
  • Production AWS experience (ECS, Lambda, EventBridge, RDS).
  • Strong PostgreSQL skills - query optimization, indexing, performance tuning.
  • Python backend development (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy preferred).
  • Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation).
  • Comfort with SQL for data exploration and pipeline development.
  • Bonus if you are experienced with:
  • Time-series databases (TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, or similar)
  • MLOps practices - model versioning, experiment tracking, CI/CD for ML pipelines
  • Energy sector or IoT experience
