About the role

As a AI Software Engineer (Recent Graduate) at the GS-2210-7, you will be part of Office of Personnel Management, Office of the Chief Information Officer. If selected, you will be responsible for you will support application development, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, requirements interpretation, and limited artificial intelligence feature or data preparation work for enterprise software applications. Successful applicants are placed in a dynamic 1 year developmental program with the potential to lead to a civil service career in the Federal Government. At the successful conclusion of this program, you may be eligible for non-competitive conversion to a Federal career or career-conditional position. Basic Requirements: You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed. AND Specialized Experience: For the GS-7: You must have one full year (52 Weeks) of specialized experience Comparable in scope and responsibility to the at the GS-05 level (or equivalent) providing IT-related experience. Applicants must have experience in the areas of: Assisting with coding, debugging, testing, or modifying application software, scripts, or system components using programming languages or development tools; And Using version control, test scripts, checklists, or documented procedures to support software development, testing, or defect tracking;And Reviewing error logs, code, test results, or system information to identify software issues and document attempted remedies; And Assisting with requirements documentation, user stories, test cases, or demonstrations to confirm that software components meet stated requirements. OR One full year graduate level education in a related field (such as: Computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, etc.) OR A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement OR An equivalent combination of qualifying graduate education and specialized experience that together meets 100 percent of the qualification requirement To meet the Recent Graduate Program Eligibility requirements, you must have obtained a qualifying Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional, Doctorate, Vocational or Technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution, within the previous 2 years. Applicants who will meet all degree or certificate requirements for graduation within 30 days of the announcement's closing date are eligible to apply. All Education must be accredited by an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (particularly positions with a positive education requirement.)
