The Packaging Development Coordinator is responsible for leading end to end packaging development for Personal Care innovations, renovations, and productivity projects across Latam. The role ensures delivery of technically robust, compliant, sustainable, and cost-effective packaging solutions that delight consumers and meet business objectives, through close collaboration with cross functional and external partners. This role will operationally drive and lead the implementation of innovation & non-innovation projects for PC business. Therefore, flexibility and versatility are also requirements in the position. The position is based in Mexico with a regional scope and will support and lead projects mainly for Mexico. WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE Key Accountabilities Drive packaging actions to deliver OTIF innovation portfolio, margin improvement and simplification projects. Project Networking and follow up with Global & Regional Team Direct contact with Supply Chain for proper project deployment. Coordinate and support tests in the factory, including pack trials. Manage primary and secondary packaging specifications, pallet patterns and any packaging tests. Perform and evaluate stability and compatibility tests. Run Packaging materials validation tests (i.e. molds components, labels, etc) Run full product distribution tests (i.e. Transit test, Drop test, etc) Specification creation for Packaging. Artwork Approval Lead development of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging across rigid and flexible formats. Translate brand briefs into executable technical packaging solutions from concept to launch. Deliver packaging milestones on time and in full (OTIF) for innovations, renovations, and productivity programs across Latam. Conduct technical scoping, risk assessment and data-based decision making throughout the project lifecycle. Technical Validation & Compliance Plan and execute packaging validation activities including compatibility, stability, transit (ISTA), factory trials, and consumer use testing as required. Ensure full compliance with Unilever Golden Design Rules, safety, regulatory, quality, and technical standards. Prepare, maintain, and approve technical documentation, specifications, and change controls in Unilever systems Leverage digital R&D tools and systems to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant packaging data management. Support digitalization of packaging workflows including spec management, validation tracking, change control, and documentation. Use data and digital insights to improve speed to market, transparency, and decision quality in packaging development. Contribute to continuous improvement of digital ways of working within Latam Packaging R&D. Experiences & Qualifications Experience in packaging development within FMCG, cosmetics, or personal care preferred. Hands on experience with rigid and/or flexible packaging technologies. Exposure to compatibility testing, factory trials, supplier management, and project delivery in a multi-market environment. Bachelor's degree in engineering pref. Chemical or Industrial. Minimum 1 year in mass consumer good manufacturing company (or similar) in related positions as R&D, Supply Chain, Quality, Procurement, Planning. Cross Functional & Supplier Collaboration Act as the packaging R&D interface with Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement, QA, Finance, Global R&D, and BG teams. Lead technical engagement with packaging suppliers, converters, and CM/3P partners across LATAM markets. Represent LATAM packaging in regional or global forums, network meetings, and capability discussions when required.
