Position details include: This position is full or part-time; 50%-100% FTE This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, Visiting Assistant Professor, Visiting Associate Professor or Visiting Professor. The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist. Research Program: Faculty develop and sustain extramurally funded research programs in clinical, translational, or health services emergency care. Success in this role includes publishing in high-impact journals, presenting at national and international meetings, mentoring trainees and junior faculty, and assuming leadership roles in professional organizations. Faculty contributions are expected to lead to national recognition through visiting professorships, invited publications, and honors. Clinical Care: Faculty provide outstanding emergency care across DEM clinical sites, including University Hospital, a regional referral center caring for the highest acuity and most complex patients. Our teams serve diverse communities in Madison and are supported by exceptional advanced practice providers (APP), nurses, technicians, social workers, pharmacists, respiratory therapists, case managers, care coordinators, and others committed to delivering the highest quality care. Education: Faculty contribute broadly to medical education at UW-Madison, teaching undergraduate and graduate students, medical students, residents, fellows, and APPs. Educational activities include classroom instruction, small group learning, simulation, and supervised clinical care, with opportunities to lead courses, mentor trainees, and guide scholarly projects. 5-10% FTE will be dedicated to the department's education mission, with the exact percentage determined at the chair's discretion. Service: The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the department, UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
