Provide guidance and leadership to the Instrumentation team, ensure the FQM way and Safety awareness message is well understood, accepted & practiced.
Installation of new Instrument Control systems; replacement of redundant Instrument Control systems, as per the Company and vendor's safety and quality specifications.
Ensure and document all Instrument drawings are up to date.
Adhere to the companies planned and preventative maintenance schedules and procedures.
Effectively maintain the Instrument equipment, with the minimum effect on the plant production.
Compile a detailed report on all activities, plans, costs and labour.
Report all incidents immediately to the Superintendent.
Ensure that stock levels of Instrument equipment are maintained in the warehouse
Create new stock for all critical items, to ensure minimum effect on production in the event of a failure.
Oversee the correct and safe usage of all hand tools within section.
Record and control all replacement of tools.
Oversee the maintain the highest safety standard on the condition and usage of all Instrument test equipment
Provide and schedule all necessary training for all the employees to comply with all safety standards and statutory compliance.
Identify needs for specialised training requirements within your area.
Any other duties as directed by the Instrumentation Superintendent.
Requirements
Degree / Diploma - Instrumentation; or similar in Industrial software systems
Siemens STEP 7 certification.
CitectSCADA
Valid LV Driver's License.
All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority ( ZAQA )
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Mining Plant environment, working as an Industrial Software Engineer.
Excellent knowledge of Siemens 300 & 400 PLC and Siemens H-PLC; WinCC (Flex); Simocode Motor protection relays, Variable speed drive controls (ABB & Danfoss).
Excellent knowledge of AVEVA Plant SCADA Version 8 and above.
Excellent knowledge of Profibus DP & PA, as well as Profinet, field devices. Other related communications protocols like Modbus etc.
Industrial Network configuration, installation & maintenance. Including Domain controllers, DNS and DHCP servers.
Knowledge of Virtualization Software (Hyper V / VMWare), will be advantageous
Knowledge of Cyber Security in OT environment and Antivirus systems will be advantageous.
Knowledge of DCS systems, preferably Siemens PCS7 systems, will be advantageous.
Knowledge of Expert control systems will be advantageous.
Knowledge of OPC DA/UA systems will be advantageous.
Knowledge of CCTV systems will be advantageous.
Good knowledge on the use of measuring instruments.
Reading of P&ID, as well as Electrical drawings.
Any Leadership or Supervisory Training courses.
