Lead and supervise GE Vernova field teams and subcontractors across GIS installation, maintenance, repair, and modernization (retrofit) projects - 69 kV to 800 kV
Drive efficient execution through hands-on coordination of manpower, tools, equipment, and site resources
Serve as the primary GE Vernova representative and customer interface on site
Lead daily toolbox talks, safety briefings, and Job Safety Analyses (JSA/AHA)
Manage site interfaces with clients, contractors, commissioning teams, and project managers
Monitor installation progress and deliver accurate daily, weekly, and final site reports
Support commissioning, high-voltage testing, and punch list closure through to formal client handover
Review, adapt, and draft engineering documents including GA drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings, terminal diagrams, mounting details, and Bills of Materials
Review converted European-standard mechanical support structure and breaker control drawings into North American-compliant packages aligned with IEEE, ANSI, CSA, NEC/NFPA, and local utility requirements - if required amend.
Identify technical gaps between European and North American design practices and recommend compliant engineering solutions
Write and adapt Method Statements for specific job types (new installation, maintenance, repair, Hi-Pot tests) based on existing generic procedures
Prepare engineering documentation suitable for review and stamping by a licensed Professional Engineer (PE/P.Eng.) where required
Ensure all engineering changes are documented, traceable, and compliant with client and statutory requirements
Quality, EHS & Regulatory Compliance
Enforce strict compliance with GE Vernova EHS policies, OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910 & 1926), NFPA 70E arc flash requirements, and LOTO procedures
Manage on-site quality inspections, audits, and hold points
Verify training, certifications, and PPE compliance for all site personnel
Exercise Stop Work Authority without hesitation when unsafe conditions are identified
Champion GE Vernova's Zero Harm safety culture at every level of site activity
Procurement & Sourcing Technical Support
Prepare clear technical specifications and drawing packages to support North American component sourcing and procurement
Define and validate component substitutions where European parts are unavailable or non-compliant in North America
Support material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor clarification processes
Coordinate with suppliers to confirm fit, function, certification, and compliance of selected materials
Coaching & Team Development
Mentor and develop junior field engineers, supervisors, and technicians & provide customer training

Technical Expertise
Proven hands-on expertise in GIS substation installation, assembly, maintenance, repair, and retrofit (69 kV - 800 kV)
Ability to read, interpret, mark up, and revise mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, control drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation procedures
Working knowledge of Local Control Cubicles (LCC) and secondary/control systems
Ability to convert engineering documentation from European to North American standards
Knowledge of high-voltage substation breaker control philosophy and mechanical support design
Experience with procurement documentation: BOMs, technical specifications, and approved vendor lists
Strong understanding of quality, testing, and turnover documentation requirements
Safety & Compliance Knowledge
Deep knowledge of OSHA (29 CFR 1910 / 1926), NFPA 70E, and LOTO requirements
Experience conducting and validating JSA/AHA prior to work execution
Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian regulatory frameworks for high-voltage field work
Leadership & Soft Skills
Demonstrated field leadership and site team coordination on complex, high-voltage projects
Strong troubleshooting capability in both electrical and mechanical environments
Customer-focused communicator with strong relationship management skills
Ability to work independently at remote project sites under challenging conditions
Comfortable operating in both field execution and technical review environment
Requirements
Degree, diploma, or technical training in Electrical, Electromechanical, or equivalent Engineering discipline
Significant field experience in HV GIS installation, construction supervision, and commissioning
Experience with European and North American substation standards strongly preferred
PE/P.Eng. preferred; candidates with qualifications compatible with licensed supervision are encouraged to apply
Fluent English required; French is a strong asset
