Groomers should have current grooming experience and be able to consistently provide canines and their parents with a high level of gentle and professional care. Job duties may include but not limited to: Clean the dog's teeth and ears Maintain an upbeat attitude Calm an anxious dog or cat Ensure company policies are being followed Communicate effectively with clients to find out what they need Shampoo and wash a dog's and cat's hair or fur Create a welcoming environment for dogs, cats, and their owners Cut or shave a dog/cat's hair or fur using knowledge of canine characteristic, grooming techniques, styles, and owner's instructions Effectively trim and Dremel patients' nails Provide medicated (when instructed) and general cleansing, parasite control baths High School diploma or GED equivalent Proficient at Grooming Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 40 pounds Ability to work in a professional manner Calming presence to pets Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time Great communication skills Ability to work on a team Understands and applies hospital policies and procedures Keeps grooming are clean, orderly, and clutter-free Removes trash, sweeps, and mops daily Launders bedding and linens Stocks supplies as needed Attends staff and departmental meetings.
