Provides second level support for complex problems to all departments for all things mechanical automation.
Informs leadership of potential workflow issues and any specific problems; assists in coordinating and working with other teams to ensure smooth transfers across shifts. Assists leader in ensuring staffing aligns with operational needs.
Performs preventative maintenance functions on a variety of complex industrial equipment as scheduled.
Applies computer skills to troubleshoot and repair automated industrial utilizing and adjusting and programming parameter settings on (HMI, VFD and IO) controlled equipment.
Install, maintain, and support complex Kuka robot system, automated, pneumatic, cutting, packaging, sorting equipment, high speed sewing and production equipment, injection molding and carton and product transport systems and equipment.
Follows procedures and properly handles Universal Waste per state guidelines.
Maintains accurate documentation of all new and existing installations.
Acts as internal resource providing support and expertise required for projects and maintenance. May act as project lead. Oversees the work of automated equipment contractors and vendors.
Collaborates with internal clients in support of new and existing technology requirements.
Mentor and support all technicians, regardless of title and level.
Identifies hazardous conditions or actions that may cause injury or property damage and ensures action to abate them.
Assures appropriate communication of issues/problems to coworkers and leadership. Shares expertise in support of others to build technical and diagnostic strength in the team.
Provides coverage at designated times as required to meet business demands and off shift shutdowns.
Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Health and Safety Requirement
Education Level: Highschool or GED/ Vocational or Community College preferred but not required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to create and maintain accurate documentation
Knowledge and experience with NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
Able to troubleshoot complex controls including experience with adjusting and programming parameter settings HMI's, I.O.'s, VFD's
Ability to work with various 24-hour emergency support groups
Experience reading electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
Ability to collaborate at many levels internally and externally
Self-motivated, able to work independently and provide guidance and support to all technicians
Valid state driver's license required
Ability to operate and work in boom trucks, scissor lifts, personnel lifts, and other aerial lifts at heights more than 14 feet
