[What the role is] MAINTENANCE INSPECTORS FOR RAIL SYSTEMS AND INFRASTUCTURE There are vacancies in 4 different domains, namely: (1) Rolling Stock and Rail Maintenance Vehicles (2) Signalling, Communications Systems, Platform Screen Doors, Integrated Control Systems (3) Traction Power System and Ancillary system (e.g. Fire protection, ventilation, drainage, lighting) (4) Trackwork, Tunnels, Viaducts and Buildings Infrastructure. Upon assessment, you will be assigned to the domain that best aligns with your relevant experience and skill sets. [What you will be working on] Apply systematic maintenance audits to assure high standards in maintenance planning, execution, records and workforce for systems under your specialisation. Conduct deep, outcome-focused maintenance audits beyond compliance checking to uncover systemic risks and improve maintenance effectiveness Apply risk-based inspection approaches to conduct targeted inspections focusing on critical systems and high-impact failure modes. Identify emerging and latent maintenance and asset condition risks early, before they escalate into operational failures Implement technology-enabled inspection methods (e.g. data analytics or condition monitoring systems) to improve inspection effectiveness and efficiency Adopt predictive and analytical approaches to analyse asset and maintenance performance metrics, failure trends, asset condition Capture O&M insights and contribute towards building up of LTA's knowledge to support design and life cycle management strategies for rail assets [What we are looking for] Knowledge in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, or an equivalent field. Relevant engineering and rail domain expertise to assess maintenance quality and engineering integrity, interpret asset condition and degradation mechanisms Maintenance & reliability engineering knowledge to analyse failure trends and recurring defects and evaluate effectiveness of maintenance regimes Inspection and QA/QC experience to conduct structured audits using checklists and frameworks, identify gaps in maintenance processes and execution Data & analytical skills to interpret performance data, fault trends, and reliability metrics and use data to support risk-based inspection decisions Familiarity with digital inspection tools, condition monitoring systems, emerging technologies (e.g. AI, robotics, analytics platforms) to enhance inspection effectiveness and coverage. Communication skills to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders and to Produce clear, evidence-based inspection reports.
