Airway Transportation Systems Specialist (Team Lead Instructor)

About the role

The incumbent serves as a Team Lead within the Technical Operations Training Division of the FAA Academy. The incumbent develops course control documents/training material and/or conducts theoretical and practical training on assigned National Airspace System (NAS) equipment and systems for field technical experts involved with the installation and maintenance of one or more NAS systems. To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I (FG/GS-13) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized Experience includes: experience providing instruction to field technical personnel through classroom lectures, seminars, laboratory situations, distance learning on technical NAS subjects to include, Navigation and Landing Systems, Communications, Terminal and EnRoute Radar, Terminal and EnRoute Automation, ARTCC, and GNAS Environmental; experience leading others and utilizing project management techniques; experience developing course control documents and training materials.
