Job Summary: Plans, schedules and coordinates the movement of resources through the production cycle. Principal Responsibilities: Transforms specific customer requirements into engineering and production plans, with input requirements to ensure success. Assists in the preparation and planning of production schedules to expedite and coordinate the movement of parts/products through various operations. Develops and maintains inventory strategies to minimize inventory while maximizing flexibility for lead-time and customer demand. Responsible for coordinating and managing quarterly inventory and returns to suppliers, as well as setting up and coordinating new product releases. Optimizes production schedule through effective planning and level loading based on workload and manpower availability. Coordinates time-lines along with resource requirements for all projects and first time production runs. Establishes and provides ramp-up modeling including resource on-boarding schedules. Delivers and negotiates master production schedule to assure schedule achievability. Delivers production output plans by means of production reporting methods. Works closely with sales and materials groups in an effort to align order with resource availability. Drives specific scheduling within all logistics operations, including warehousing, engineering, production, depot repair and transportation, in order to meet expectations. Monitors customer output to forecast, and works with stakeholders to re-set expectations and drive forecast completion through use of (overtime, other teams' resources). Addresses all logistics exceptions throughout the process, driving resolution and acting as primary internal and external communicator on the specifics and any impact to delivery. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Work may be reviewed at a high-level. May represent the organization as a primary contact on assignments and/or projects. Interacts with senior professionals and management and frequently coordinates work between departments or organizations. Actions may impact the organization. Failure to accomplish work will result in the inability to reach crucial organizational goals. Erroneous decisions may have a prolonged effect resulting in the expenditure of substantial resources. Work Experience: Typically 5+ years with bachelor's or equivalent. Education and Certification(s): Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained. Distinguishing Characteristics: May be required to maintain certification in a quality management method, e.g. Lean Six Sigma Position requires the ability to travel.
