Grade 12 (Matric) 2-3 years' experience in an Inventory Control, Stock Management, Stock Control, Inventory Analyst, Receiving Manager, or similar role 5 years' experience in a Retail enviroment Strong understanding of stock counts, stock movement processes, shrinkage control, and inventory management Experience working with retail systems and reporting tools (SAP or similar) Proven ability to analyse data and identify root causes of stock variances Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Outlook) Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills We're looking for someone who (Competencies) Has a passion for inventory accuracy and operational excellence Is highly analytical and detail-oriented Can identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis Has strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities Can influence and coach teams to improve compliance and stock discipline Thrives in a fast-paced retail environment Takes ownership and drives results Inventory Control & Risk Management Drive the execution of National, Divisional, and Ad Hoc stock counts. Monitor and manage stock integrity across the store. Investigate stock variances and identify root causes. Implement corrective actions to reduce stock losses and improve stock accuracy. Manage Dormant, Obsolete, and Overstock processes to improve cash flow and working capital. Ensure all inventory movement processes are executed according to company standards. Monitor and manage stock loss prevention initiatives and exit management controls. Stock Availability & Merchandising Analyse stock availability and identify opportunities to improve on-shelf availability. Monitor negative stock, dormant stock, and inventory movement reports. Partner with Store Management and Department Managers to optimise stock holding and availability. Identify and report non-compliance relating to merchandising standards and inventory controls. Ensure accurate stock rotation and inventory management practices are maintained. Reporting, Systems & Analysis Analyse daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports. Investigate stock movement trends and identify risks and opportunities. Ensure stock data integrity and accurate system reporting at all times. Coordinate and execute ad hoc stock investigations and counts. Support operational decision-making through accurate inventory reporting and analysis. Team Leadership & Development Coach and support store teams on inventory management processes and controls. Build a culture of accountability and stock ownership across the store. Provide ongoing training on inventory procedures, SOPs, and compliance requirements. Partner with management teams to drive continuous improvement in stock management practices.
