The HR Generalist & Student Employment Specialist serves as a key member of the Human Resources team while also working closely with Financial Aid. Essential Functions Statement(s) Human Resources Generalist Functions Assist with recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and orientation processes for employees. Administer employee personnel actions, including new hires, transfers, promotions, status changes, and separations. Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional regulations. Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, payroll, and employment practices. Assist with employee relations matters by providing guidance, documentation support, and referrals as appropriate. Coordinate HR communications and contribute to policy development and implementation. Generate reports and maintain HR data within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Support compliance activities, including audits, training, and regulatory reporting requirements. Student Employment Program Administration Coordinate and administer all aspects of the student employment program. Develop and maintain student employment policies, procedures, and program guidelines. Collaborate with and train campus departments to post student positions, recruit candidates, and facilitate hiring processes. Assist with drafting student employee job descriptions. Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations, including work-study requirements and student employment eligibility. Working with Financial Aid, monitor student work hours, funding allocations, and employment status to ensure compliance with institutional, budgetary, and regulatory standards. Conduct training and provide guidance to supervisors and student employees regarding employment procedures and expectations. Serve as the primary point of contact for student employment questions and issues. Ensure compliance with federal regulations regarding I9 and E-Verify. Process student employee federal I9 forms and E-Verify cases. Maintain accurate student employment records and prepare reports related to student workforce activity. Assist with workforce planning and initiatives that enhance student employment opportunities and student success outcomes. Additional Responsibilities Assist students and supervisors with time and attendance in Workday. Assist with HR events, training programs, employee recognition activities, and campus outreach efforts. Perform other duties as assigned.
