Oversees interviews of all relevant participants associated with complaints and documents the investigative process.
Oversees the writing and editing of memos, notices, and reports.
Oversees the writing of the first draft of comprehensive investigative reports that accurately summarize all relevant investigative findings.
Ensures that all evidence is logged and participant interviews are accurately summarized.
Supports the day-to-day activities of the Department of Investigation and Adjudication, works closely with high-level university administrators and personnel from other university departments, and represents the Associate Vice President for Investigation and Adjudication when necessary.
Supervises staff responsible for investigating Title VII and Title IX concerns, as well as staff responsible for editing and producing documents.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or Juris Doctor.
At least four years of experience investigating Title IX, equal employment opportunity compliance, or student conduct matters.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience, including experience drafting or editing legal briefs or investigative reports.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Requirements
Experience representing or advising clients on employment discrimination or Title IX matters.
Experience in a management or leadership position.
Experience conducting or overseeing compliance investigations for a state agency or institute of higher education.
Salary Range
$130,000 + depending on qualifications

Purpose
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Investigation and Adjudication, the Deputy Director for Investigation and Adjudication supports the day-to-day operation of the Department of Investigation and Adjudication, working closely with staff, university administrators, and campus stakeholders on issues related to the investigation and adjudication of the University's Title IX and anti-discrimination policies.
