About the role

The VIP Interior Mechanic II works under general supervision to perform removal, installation, and fabrication of VIP aircraft interior components. This mid‑level technician is proficient at reading blueprints, operating tools, and collaborating with the team to ensure high‑quality completion of VIP interiors. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform removal, installation, fabrication and refurbishment of aircraft interior components such as galleys, cabinets, lavatories, sidewalls, floors, monuments and decorative finishes. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, instructions, and work orders to determine specifications. Manufacture and assemble interior components using wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal and veneers. Ensure proper fit and alignment of panels, trim, furniture and hardware by drilling, fitting, sanding, and adjusting as needed. Repair or replace damaged, missing, or defective parts with new or refurbished components. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to company guidelines and OSHA regulations. Inspect and troubleshoot interior components, identify discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions. Provide technical guidance and support to lower‑level mechanics and assist in on‑the‑job training. Accurately document work performed, submit reports and complete required reading. Communicate effectively with co‑workers and leadership regarding progress and any issues. Maintain clean and organized work area and assist with general shop upkeep. Perform other duties as assigned. Summary of Education, Experience & Certification High school education or equivalent. Four to six years recent applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience on VIP aircraft interiors. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering documents required. Applicable Repairman, Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification preferred; or ability to obtain preferred US Citizen Required - this position is located at a facility that requires special access . Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate effectively in English (read, write, and verbally communicate). Mathematical knowledge and ability to apply toward problem solving. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn company‑specific software. Ability to work under general supervision and provide guidance to less‑experienced mechanics. Proficiency using hand tools, power tools and measuring instrument. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, equipment manuals and work orders. Knowledge of VIP aircraft interior installation and fabrication processes, including removal and installation of galleys, cabinets, bulkheads, sidewalls, and decorative components. Familiarity with composite materials such as wood, honeycomb, fiberglass, sheet metal and veneers. Ability to work overtime, varied shifts and travel as required. Ability to work in a team environment, follow established procedures and maintain professionalism. Physical Requirements . Able to comply with DOT/FAA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Able to climb and work on step stools and/or ladders. Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance and ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds with assistance. Able to reach overhead. Able to work in a non-dust-free environment. Normal or corrected vision (required to perform exacting tasks). Full range of motion with both hands. Ability to work
