Join Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a Security Guard I at our Monmouth, NJ location and play a vital role in protecting patients, visitors, and staff every day. As part of our Security team, you will help maintain a secure, safe, and welcoming environment by monitoring building entrances and perimeters, responding to incidents and emergencies, preparing reports, and assisting patients, visitors, and staff when needed. Role Overview: Monitor building entrances, interior spaces, parking areas, and exterior perimeters to maintain safety and access control Conduct routine patrols and remain alert to potential safety or security concerns throughout the facility Respond promptly and professionally to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance De-escalate disruptive or challenging situations using sound judgment and professionalism Investigate incidents and complete accurate and detailed written reports Operate surveillance systems, access control systems, and other security-related technology Collaborate with clinical, operational, and facilities teams to support a safe patient care environment Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism, integrity, and a visible security presence Support emergency preparedness and response procedures as needed Key Qualifications: Valid New Jersey SORA Certification required Prior experience working as a Security Guard or in a related public safety or customer-facing role preferred Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, including outdoors and during varying weather conditions Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency or fast-paced situations Experience handling conflict resolution and de-escalating difficult interactions preferred Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and security best practices Strong written communication skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately Basic computer proficiency and comfort using security and reporting systems Core Skills: Strong judgment and decision-making skills under pressure High attention to detail and situational awareness Professional presence with a strong customer service mindset Effective verbal and written communication skills Integrity, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive situations Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare environment Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate across departments Dependable, responsive, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for all Additional Information: Location: 480 Red Hill Rd, Middletown Township, NJ 07748 Full-Time: Flexible.
