We are seeking a Principal Solution Consultant with strong technical and business expertise in Subsurface Science and Engineering (SSE) Solutions for our team in China.
The role leverages deep expertise in seismic processing and interpretation to deliver technical demonstrations, knowledge transfer, and specialized support to customers using AspenTech SSE solutions. This position requires hands-on experience with seismic interpretation and processing tools, a collaborative approach to cross‑domain selling, and a proactive attitude in identifying and developing business opportunities. The role works closely with our sales team to support pre‑sales activities, develop technical specifications, and contribute to building a healthy pipeline to drive new business growth and renewals.
The candidate will be measured against the license revenue and service bookings objectives established by management for the relevant region and BU.
Responsibilities
Provide expert sales support for AspenTech's SeisEarth seismic interpretation software.
Lead technical sales efforts to maximize product and services opportunities.
Use consultative skills to identify customer challenges, understand their business, and deliver compelling value propositions.
Explain the impact of geophysics solutions on customer operations and demonstrate their value.
Deliver technical presentations and software demonstrations as needed.
Collaborate with the sales team to plan activities and develop commercial proposals.
Support pipeline development through marketing, account planning, and awareness sessions.
Drive sales execution by achieving technical wins and establishing clear steps to closure for assigned opportunities.
Be a leader and role model to inspire passion to drive country goals and meet objectives.
Requirements
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering.
8-12 years of experience working as a geophysicist with seismic interpretation software (e.g., SeisEarth, Petrel, Decision Space, Kingdom) in exploration or field development workflows.
Additional experience in geological modeling (e.g., Petrel, RMS, SKUA) is a plus.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to draw insights from customer interactions and data.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, self-motivated attitude.
A balance of technical and business acumen, with intellectual curiosity and resilience.
Experience presenting to and gaining buy-in from middle management.
Proven ability to independently and collaboratively build a sales pipeline and close deals.
A commitment to lifelong learning, staying updated on industry trends and advancements in geophysical interpretation techniques.
