The CDL A Driver II is responsible for transporting non hazardous materials between Reworld facilities and customer sites, primarily operating walking floor trailers on a dedicated lane from Milwaukee to Indianapolis. This role is home daily and offers schedule flexibility, allowing drivers to adjust start times to avoid Chicago traffic. All potential applicants must be legally able to operate manual transmission equipment, automatic restriction licenses cannot be accommodated Primary Responsibilities Safely operate Class A tractor trailer equipment to transport materials on a dedicated Milwaukee to Indianapolis lane while meeting scheduled delivery requirements Operate walking floor trailers, with potential for limited tanker work depending on business needs Perform pre trip and post trip inspections of vehicle and equipment to ensure safe operation Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, company safety policies, and HOS requirements Additional Responsibilities Complete all required administrative paperwork including logs, delivery documentation, and vehicle inspection reports Communicate clearly with dispatch, facility contacts, and other drivers regarding schedules, delays, or operational issues Ensure vehicles are operated safely to protect employees, customers, and the public Follow written and verbal directions and navigate assigned routes efficiently Perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs Schedule and Home Time Home daily, weather and traffic dependent Flexible start times to avoid peak Chicago traffic Drivers may start earlier or later based on personal preference and route efficiency Required Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older Valid CDL Class A license Minimum of 2 years of commercial tractor trailer driving experience Acceptable driving record Ability to safely operate manual transmission equipment
