About the role
Histotechniques (Tissue Sectioning and Staining) Demonstrates foundational histotechniques of embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing and primary staining. Operates laboratory or manufacturing equipment. Receives detailed directions on all work. Follows standard operating procedures. Monitors and prepares bulk reagents. May assist in preparation work for moderately complex techniques under the direction of more senior histology technicians. Quality and Safety Maintains Right to Operate and ensure that all processes are performed in a safe and healthy manner; Addresses and escalates any potentially unsafe hazards; Timely reports safety hazards, incidents and near misses using safety reporting tools. Navigates and understands the quality system and escalate issues. Accurately performs tasks in a regulated environment (OSHA, NMPA, FDA, etc.). Performs and documents all transactions and production instructions with accuracy related to the proper receipt, quarantine, storage, and disbursement of materials as it relates to FDA, OSHA, QSR, ISO, Good Manufacturing Practices and other Roche policies and procedures. Recognizes minor issues with raw materials, equipment and lab safety, escalates as needed. Adheres to 95% or above internal training compliance. Who you are? You have a High School Diploma or GED You have 1+ years in direct related histology experience. Experience with foundational histotechniques of embedding, microtomy, coverslipping, processing and primary staining. And experience with laboratory or manufacturing equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to read, analyze and follow Operating Procedures. Knowledge of basic manufacturing and laboratory techniques. Skilled use of word processing and email. Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement. Experience with Google products (gMail, gSheets, gDoc, etc), preferred. Experience with SAP required. Ability to read, write and comprehend English. Ability to work with cross-functional teams. Ability to be agile and accurate in a high-volume environment. Strong organizational skills, planning skills and attention to detail. Physical conditions and PPE requirements: Required to stand, walk, sit, kneel, bend, crouch for a combined 4 or more hours per day. Required to push, pull, and lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Repetitive, consistent movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Required to have good near visual acuity to perform activities throughout the processes in the assigned area. Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. Pay transparency The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson is 43,900.00 - 81,500.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
