For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on tenure track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the UW Divisional Committee guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the tenure track.
Skills and prior experience in preventive cardiology are preferred. Board certifications in Lipidology, Hypertension, and/or Obesity are highly desirable.
Additionally, the candidate will have training in nuclear cardiology or echocardiography, a strong background in preventive cardiology and clinical cardiology, as well as demonstrate excellence in patient care and teaching, and a commitment to scholarly achievement.
Expertise in advanced imaging of the cardiovascular system to improve cardiovascular health in older adults
Ideal candidate will have a successful record of research productivity in the field of preventive cardiology as evidenced by publications and extramural support.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks applications for a Physician Scientist to join a dynamic academic program, to engage in teaching and research at a world-class university.
UW Madison offers outstanding clinical facilities and laboratories offering a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including coronary and peripheral vascular interventions, a full complement of structural heart disease procedures, as well as both pre-clinical and clinical investigational device research. The position will entail a presence at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics locations in Madison and at our partner community-based hospital, Unity Point Health - Meriter.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Study the epidemiology behind blood vessel stiffness and how this is impacted by aging and cardiovascular disease risk factors
Position responsibilities for patient care at UW Health locations, include inpatient cardiovascular medicine service and night call; outpatient cardiovascular services including clinic coverage at Madison based clinics as well as regional site(s) based on the needs of the division; diagnostic cardiovascular testing, including but not limited to, electrocardiograms, ambulatory monitors, transthoracic echocardiography, and a variety of modalities of stress testing and non-invasive imaging.
Research focused on blood pressure control in older patients with and without cardiovascular disease.
An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.
