SALARY RANGE $27.49 - $42.11 WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS Waukesha County's Department of Health & Human Services is recruiting for a Senior Mental Health Counselor (may underfill as Mental Health Counselor). This talented professional will join the team as a CCS Service Facilitator. The current opening is in the Coordinated Services Division with responsibility to provide service facilitation and psychosocial rehabilitation services to youth through the DHS 36 certified Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program. This position will support youth enrolled in Waukesha County's certified DHS 36 Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) program. This position will work with a team that includes the following: clinical supervisor, service facilitators, mental health professionals, psychiatric prescribers, social workers, vendors, and education providers. Selected candidate will have knowledge of mental health and alcohol and other drug use services as they pertain to youth and their families. Knowledge of and application of principles of welcoming customer service, strengths-based treatment, culturally responsive services, psychosocial rehabilitation, recovery principles, and client centered planning are essential. Previous experience providing case management and working with youth with mental health and substance use disorders is preferred. Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with some evening appointments to accommodate youth and family schedules. Limited remote options available. The 2026 salary range for Senior Mental Health Counselor is: $30.32 - $42.11. Senior Mental Health Counselor Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: 1. a. Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in sociology, social work, psychology or a closely‑related field. 1. b. Two years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families. - OR- 2. a. Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least four courses in sociology, social work, or psychology. 2. b. Three years of professional experience in the field of mental health including one thousand hours of experience delivering services to the chronically mentally ill and their families. 3. Master's degree from a recognized college or university in sociology, social work, psychology, or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the required experience. 4. Valid Driver's License. The department may choose to underfill this position as a Mental Health Counselor. The Mental Health Counselor classification specification can be viewed here . The 2026 salary range for Mental Health Counselor is: $27.49 - $38.19. Mental Health Counselor Minimum Training & Experience Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in sociology, social work, psychology, or a closely‑related field. -OR- Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least four (4) courses in sociology, social work, or psychology plus one (1) year of professional experience in the field of mental health. 2. Valid Driver's License.
