Job Summary: The Fleet Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all company vehicles and mobile equipment. This role ensures the fleet operates safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively by managing preventive maintenance, driver compliance, procurement, vendor relationships, and fleet data analytics. The Fleet Manager partners cross-functionally with EHS, dispatch, field operations, and finance to align fleet utilization with operational priorities and drive total-cost-of-ownership improvements across the asset base. Supervisory Responsibilities: Lead and develop a team of drivers and/or field technicians, including hiring, performance management, and training. Partner with dispatch and field operations leadership to align fleet utilization with operational priorities. Oversee third-party vendors and service providers supporting fleet maintenance and repair. Duties/Responsibilities: Fleet Maintenance & Scheduling Oversee preventive maintenance programs, coordinate repairs, and ensure all vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards. Manage shop schedules and parts availability with internal teams and external vendors to minimize out-of-service time. Operations & Dispatch Coordination Optimize vehicle routing and utilization, coordinate with dispatch teams, and minimize downtime across the fleet. Right-size assignments by job, geography, and crew to match operational demand. Compliance & Driver Safety Ensure DOT and OSHA compliance, manage driver qualification files, licenses, medical cards, and safety training programs. Maintain accurate records for audits, regulatory inspections, and client safety reviews. Budget & Cost Management Manage the fleet operating budget, track fuel and total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) metrics, and negotiate vendor contracts.
