This National Guard position is for a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1065000 and is part of the FL AASF 2, National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1 & 3 Only. Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency WITH dual FL National Guard military membership; Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard. First consideration will be given to Category 1. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment / Relocation: Incentive MAY be authorized. ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. FLARNG BUS Code NG5022: This position is "included" in the bargaining unit and eligible for labor organization representation. Military Grades: Enlisted: E5 thru E8 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS09 Must have at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-07 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education, or training, involving principles, techniques, and accepted practices of quality assurance work (i.e., the application of statistical sampling techniques sufficient to perform assignments or preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problems); experience in the application and theory of specialization using applicable publications; experience in the preparation of technical reports on quality levels to identify specific problem areas and to recommend corrective action; experience with assigned aircraft, component systems, and support equipment to include aircraft specifications and standards (UH60). TEMPORARY PROMOTION- For Title 32 and/or Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If a permanent employee in Title 32 and/or Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she will retain their permanent status AND return to their previous Title 32 and/or Title 5 position once the incumbent returns from military duty. If the military tour member, who has reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her reemployment rights within 5 years, the selected individual may remain in this position without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-For Current Title 5 selectees only: This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour). If an on-board individual employed in Title 5 excepted civil service accepts this position, he/she willbe converted to Title 32 and will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3). If a Reduction-In-Force occurs and/or the military tour member exercises reemployment rights to this position, the indefinite appointee will have no reemployment rights to any other position and may be separated. If the military tour member, having reemployment rights to this position, does not exercise his/her rights within 5 years, this position may be converted to a permanent status without further competition. INDEFINITE APPOINTMENT-State National Guard Members (Not Current T5 or T32 Onboard) This is an obligated position (incumbent is on a military tour), and selectee will receive an indefinite appointment (Tenure 3).
