Position Overview United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Coronary CT Registered Nurse (RN). The Coronary CT RN is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care during coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) procedures. Primary Department, Division, or Unit: CT Scan, UHS Imaging Vestal Work Shift and Schedule: This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager. Compensation Range: $33.63 - $50.45 per hour, depending on experience This position is not eligible for benefits. ----- Job Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical and surgical history related to cardiovascular health, medication review, allergies, and relevant lab results Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access (antecubital or above) for contrast administration Administer medications, including nitroglycerin and oral beta blockers or calcium channel blockers, to achieve optimal heart rate for imaging Continuously monitor patient vital signs and response throughout the procedure Identify and respond promptly to adverse reactions, including complications from contrast media Educate patients on procedure expectations, preparation, potential risks, and post-procedure care Collaborate closely with cardiologists, CT technologists, and interdisciplinary team members Accurately document assessments, interventions, and medications in the electronic medical record (EMR Position Qualifications Minimum Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. At least one year experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting. Current NY State RN license. Documentation of current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days employment. Preferred: Previous experience in an outpatient setting.
