Responsibilities

  • The PCC has clinical and leadership expertise. The principal responsibilities within the site(s) include:
  • Ensuring efficient day to day operations of clinical areas

  • At minimum, a completion of BScN Baccalaureate in Nursing or Baccalaureate level education with Diploma in Nursing required
  • Completion of a Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Basic Cardiac life Support (B.C.L.S.) program
  • Three (3) years nursing experience, including experience as required by area of responsibility and experience working in a supervisory capacity
  • Current certificate of competency (licensure) from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
  • Demonstrates membership within a professional nursing association and/or nursing interest groups related to practice
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Experience with project management and/or Lean process improvement an asset
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and collaborates with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities

Its 800,000 square feet house 130 inpatient beds, 373,000 square feet of research space and 17 radiation treatment machines, makes it one of the largest comprehensive cancer treatment facilities in the world and the largest radiation treatment centre in Canada. As an integral member of the interprofessional team, the site-based Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) acts as a resource and co-leader for the interprofessional disease site team(s).
