Naval Project Quality Assurance Engineer - NETE

About the role

Provide Quality Assurance (QA) expertise across modelling, data management, data integration, analysis, and Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) services in support of the Royal Canadian Navy. Offer multi-disciplinary engineering and technical services related to the River Class Destroyer (RCD) Naval Combat System. Weir Marine Engineering supports the RCD Project Management Office (PMO) within the Department of National Defence (DND) Office at the Bluenose building in Dartmouth, NS. The Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Quality Assurance Engineer will conduct QA activities across the MBSE enterprise in support of the RCD Program. The candidate may also support other project areas as required, including Integrated Test Evaluation and Acceptance (ITEA), Performance Modelling and Simulation (M&S), Land Based Test Capability (LBTC), and Synthetic Environment Support activities. This is a full-time, permanent position with a combination of working in-office and working from home, if desired. What we do at Weir Since 1953, Weir has operated and managed the Naval Engineering Test Establishment (NETE), a Department of National Defence (DND) facility located in LaSalle with operations in Halifax, Lévis, Victoria and Ottawa/Gatineau. Requirements

• Mandatory: Must obtain a Government of Canada security clearance, which necessitates Canadian citizenship and a minimum of 10 years of continuous residence in Canada.
• Mandatory: Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Management, or equivalent experience.
• Mandatory: Skilled in reading, writing, and speaking English, with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels (both in-person and electronically) with peers, supervisors, and clients. Capable of drafting reports and technical correspondence.
• Desirable: Knowledge or experience of ISO 9001 Quality Management Standard and Configuration Management Standards ISO-10007:2017 and EIA-649C.
• Desirable: Familiarity with data modelling languages and MBSE frameworks such as UML, SysML, DODAF, DNDAF and UAF.
• Desirable: Experience implementing the Object Oriented Systems Engineering Method (OOSEM) using Cameo Enterprise Architecture.
