Pay Range: The base pay range for this position is $38.75-$63.41 Hourly however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Position Overview: The Healthcare Data Analyst is responsible for organizing and managing large and varied data sets and associated decision support tools, analyzing healthcare data to optimize business operations, and communicating the findings through the use of data visualization and detailed reports. Applies advanced level knowledge of clinical and financial analysis as well as systems technology to identify and design solutions with respect to clinical, operational and financial performance improvement. Demonstrates an understanding of database functionality and reporting tools, and knowledge of healthcare systems and processes. Demonstrates exceptional analytical capability to develop, design and execute prospective and retrospective analyses. Facilitates organizational reporting of clinical, operational and financial performance and monitoring outcomes of care processes. A Day in the Life: Demonstrate knowledge of current trends and issues in the healthcare data analytics field. Analyze data to assist in delivering optimal healthcare management and decision making. Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports for quality improvement initiatives. Monitor hospital quality metrics and CMS Star Measures, patient safety indicators, infection prevention data, readmission rates, and patient satisfaction measures. Support CMS Critical Access Hospital reporting requirements and other regulatory compliance activities. Perform data abstraction, auditing, and validation to ensure accuracy and completeness of submissions. Identify trends, variances, and opportunities for operational and clinical improvement. Collaborate with department leaders, nursing staff, providers, and administration to support quality initiatives and performance improvement projects. Prepare reports and presentations for QMS, Medical Staff, Board of Commissioners, and leadership meetings. Assist with accreditation surveys, state audits, and quality benchmarking activities. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and hospital privacy policies. Support implementation and optimization of reporting tools such as Power BI, Excel, Tableau, or EHR reporting systems. About You! This Job is For You if You Have: A minimum of 4 years-experience in data analytics, quality management, patient safety, or associated field. Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics, CMS reporting, and patient safety initiatives. Proficiency with data manipulation software. Experience with data visualization tools. Knowledge of data management applications. Proficiency in managing electronic medical records. Proficiency in data analysis and performance improvement methodologies. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Ability to communicate complex data clearly to clinical and non-clinical audiences. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Public Health, Data Analytics, Nursing, Business, or related field preferred. Associate's degree in related field will be considered with relevant experience. A Wow if You Have: Master's degree in nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field. Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is preferred or must be obtained within a set timeframe upon hiring. Strong knowledge of clinical quality management, patient safety protocols, and infection control standards. Previous experience in a critical access hospital setting.
