Under the supervision of the LPN, RN, or nurse leader, the Patient Care Tech (PCT) performs patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care activities to meet the physical and psychosocial needs of the patient. Job Description: SCHEDULE: Part time, not benefit eligible 6 hours/week 12 hour shifts, 5:30pm-6:00am Every 3rd weekend rotation Holiday rotation KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Performs delegated patient care activities using evidence-based practice and specific competencies for the patient population served. Checks patients' vital signs, height, and weight, as needed, based on patient type. Provides compassionate care and listens to patients' concerns and guides them by answering any questions or concerns. Identifies and escalates changes in patient status or patient risks to prevent crisis. Collects clinical data and information on patients and reports to care team. Repositions, transfers, ambulates and transports patients. Assists patients with basic needs (such as hygiene, eating, using the restroom, and dressing). Obtains and reports patient intake and output. Performs electrocardiograms (ECGs) as directed. Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection. Provides care that is age appropriate, culturally specific, and developmentally appropriate in an environment that promotes patient safety. Demonstrates professional and therapeutic relationships with patients, families, team members, and providers.
