POSITION SUMMARY
Veritas Veterinary Partners seeks a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the cleanliness, safety and operational readiness of a Partner Hospital. The Housekeeper plays a foundational role in maintaining a clean, sanitary and welcoming environment for patients, clients and hospital team members throughout every area of the facility. In a veterinary hospital, housekeeping is not simply a matter of appearance. A consistently clean and properly disinfected facility is essential to infection control, patient safety and the wellbeing of the animals and people in our care. This role works in close coordination with clinical, facilities and operations teams to ensure all hospital areas meet the high standards Veritas Veterinary Partners holds across its network.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cleaning and Sanitation
Clean and disinfect patient care areas including exam rooms, treatment areas, wards and surgical prep spaces according to infection control protocols and the cleaning schedule.
Clean and sanitize client-facing areas including lobbies, waiting rooms, consultation rooms and restrooms throughout the shift.
Clean and maintain staff break rooms, locker areas, offices, corridors and stairwells on a scheduled basis.
Vacuum, mop and maintain all floor surfaces throughout the facility using appropriate cleaning methods and equipment for each surface type.
Clean and maintain laundry and utility areas as directed, ensuring cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored.
Supplies and Equipment
Monitor housekeeping supply inventory and communicate restocking needs to the Facilities Coordinator or Hospital Manager in advance of shortages.
Dilute, handle, store and label cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital safety guidelines.
Use, maintain and store housekeeping equipment including vacuums, floor machines and cleaning carts in good working order, reporting malfunctions promptly.
Follow safe handling practices for cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment; formal OSHA certification is not required but a genuine commitment to safety is expected and supported.
Team Collaboration
Coordinate daily cleaning priorities and schedules with the Facilities Coordinator, Hospital Manager and clinical team leads to support hospital workflow and minimize disruption to patient care.
Respond promptly and cooperatively to urgent cleaning requests from any department, understanding that immediate response in a clinical environment directly affects patient safety.
Communicate any facility maintenance concerns, safety hazards or unusual conditions observed during cleaning to the appropriate facilities or hospital leadership contact.
