Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Lyft's in-house counsel Litigation & Employment team to support administrative, pre-litigation and litigation matters, as well as external legal requests.
  • Manages, tracks, calendars, and files responses to claims.

  • Provides legal support to in-house attorneys, paralegals, and various internal business partners to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Helps define procedures and practices within Legal to promote efficient workflows and handling of legal requests.
  • Maintains overall governance of existing processes and strategies.
  • Liaises with internal and external counsel and contacts on a day-to-day basis.
  • Leads projects and tasks within a broader legal strategy in collaboration with other team members.

Requirements

  • Note that a JD or Paralegal certificate is not required for this position.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years relevant legal experience. Law firm experience preferred.
  • Experience handling discovery in complex litigation matters.
  • Ability to obtain notary license.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptionally organized and efficient.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency working in a Mac environment, and specifically with Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, etc.), Excel, and Word, and familiarity with various e-discovery tools.
