About the role
Our Technology team drives the evolution of our Technology, Engineering, Data, Product and User Experience functions. With a keen focus on delivering cutting-edge solutions, we shape the digital landscape for our customers, readers, and users. From revolutionizing visuals to optimizing tools and harnessing the power of data, mobile, video, and social platforms, our team is committed to providing a seamless and immersive experience across all touchpoints. Collaborating closely with our newsrooms and strategic partners, we spearhead the development of groundbreaking products and technologies. We're hiring a Principal PM to own the content supply chain end-to-end: the ingestion, processing, enrichment, and delivery of Dow Jones content assets. This is the PM partner to the VP of Engineering for Content Services, and the connective tissue between content infrastructure and every downstream consumer including search and AI. This is not a backlog management role. It is a platform product leadership role. The PM we hire will treat content as first-class infrastructure, define what "AI-ready" means for DJ's content layer, and remove a chronic upstream bottleneck across multiple product areas. You Will: Own the product strategy and roadmap for DJ's content supply chain: ingestion, acquisition, enrichment, normalization, metadata tagging, and delivery. Define and drive standards for AI-ready content - chunking strategy, embedding-friendly formats, metadata quality, and latency requirements that serve RAG pipelines across the company. Partner directly with the VP of Engineering for Content Services to translate downstream consumer needs into clear platform requirements. Enable downstream consumers - Search, AI features, B2B APIs, and Factiva - by ensuring the content layer meets their structural and quality requirements. Manage and evolve feed architecture and third-party content integrations, onboarding new content sources with clarity on priority and impact. Define success metrics for content quality, enrichment coverage, pipeline reliability, and AI-readiness. You Have: 10+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time owning content pipelines, feed architecture, or content ingestion systems in a data-intensive B2B environment. Strong understanding of what "AI-ready" means for content: metadata quality, chunking, normalization, embedding structure, and latency - you've worked with or alongside teams building RAG pipelines or LLM-powered features. Demonstrated ability to translate downstream consumer requirements (Search, AI, APIs) into upstream platform decisions - you understand the dependency chain and can reason about it clearly. Strong engineering credibility - comfortable operating as a true partner to a VP-level engineering lead and their team, participating in architectural trade-off decisions, not just writing tickets. Experience owning shared platform infrastructure, not just product features - you understand that your customers are internal teams and you design for their needs accordingly. Familiarity with content processing concepts: entity tagging, normalization, deduplication, metadata schemas, and delivery mechanisms.
