The Impact You'll Make in this Role As an Application Engineering Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Directly support customers in St. Paul, across the United States, and globally Train customers, distributors, and 3M employees how to successfully use our products Expand training expertise to locations outside of 3M's St. Paul headquarters, acting as a Master Trainer and conducting "train the trainer" workshops Support the development of new products through input to 3M's New Product Introduction process Support the launch and sales of products with training SOPs, videos, and documentation Leading training and product enablement for 3M's customers in graphics and personal auto film products Implementing SOPs globally to ensure consistent, high quality installation of those products, often backed by 3M warranty Determining what improvements / changes are needed to remain the leader in the categories we serve Supporting the development of new products, through input of key customer requirements into our New Product Introduction process Willingness to work in mornings and evenings, as needed, to support 3M's global Application Engineering team. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, or higher (completed and verified prior to start) Five (5) years of hands-on installation experience with graphics and personal auto films including paint protection film, auto window film, color change film, and graphics films Current, valid Driver's License. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Five (5) years of training experience with graphics or personal auto films Experience working outside the United States training with graphics or personal auto films Experience creating and editing digital videos for use in training and social media Competency using Microsoft Office products including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and MS Outlook Experience working and communicating directly with customers Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN. Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international Relocation Assistance: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
