We provide administrative support, financial oversight, integrated technology solutions, and HR support to all five of Maricopa County's Indigent Representation offices (Public Defender, Legal Defender, Legal Advocate, Public Advocate, and Contract Counsel) in an effort to ensure indigent individuals have their fundamental rights protected and receive quality legal representation. Work With Us | Maricopa County, AZ We Require Two years of experience performing office, administrative, and clerical duties High school diploma or GED Post-secondary education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis We Also Value Experience working in a law office, court, criminal justice, or indigent defense environment Intermediate proficiency with the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Job Contributions Coordinates travel for contract staff, experts, and witnesses; arranges travel reservations, calculates reimbursements, reviews, and reconciles travel invoices Serves as backup Request of Funds (ROF) approvals coordinator by monitoring received ROFs, sorting and saving approved requests, communicating with vendors on denied ROFs to obtain updates for reconsideration, and resolving problems as required Receives and tracks transcription requests, verifies media functionality, arranges with transcriptionists to obtain services, and routes completed documents to requestors Conducts research utilizing case management systems for the court and the department Receives and responds to requests from a variety of sources Functions as a backup receptionist for the department Assists other members of the office with projects as needed Working Conditions Work includes interruptions, time pressures, high volumes of work, handling multiple or complicated tasks, and unscheduled or changing tasks Constant need for accuracy, decision making, concentration/vigilance, and teamwork Requires frequent public contact and sitting for long periods of time May be required to lift, carry, or push up to 30 pounds from the floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead Selection Procedure Consideration will only be given to candidates who submit online applications Candidates will be contacted primarily through email and their Workday online application profile Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive Maricopa County is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all applicants.
