Essential Functions:
- Conduct business in a professional manner and work as a team with other members of the clinic
- Deliver direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established procedures
- Document history; recording and reporting pertinent observations and patient reactions to staff, as appropriate; document lab procedures and ensure follow up on results
- Use screening procedures, including medical history review, and observe and document patient vital signs as required
- Maintain quality results by running standards and controls
- Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
- Verify equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced troubleshooting; calibrate equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitor quality control measures and protocols
- Train other technicians or workers
- Assist with or institute emergency measures for sudden adverse developments during treatments
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, laboratory and treatment room procedures
- Common knowledge of safety hazards and precautions
- Ability to read, understand, and respond to detailed oral and written instructions
- Must be able to read and write medical terminology
- Possess the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies
- Must be able to take and record vital signs, maintain records, point-of-care testing, record results, and administer injections.
