As the Product Manager for Vention's Robotics & Automation Programming Platform, you will own the product roadmap for the software people use to program Vention machines and robots - from our visual, code-free authoring experience to our code-first development environment, along with the operator interfaces (HMI). This is the surface where a customer turns an idea into a running automation, and it is entering its most exciting chapter: a move toward a single, unified, AI-native authoring experience that meets non-technical users and expert developers on the same platform. In this role, you will interface with customers, integrators, and internal stakeholders to capture emerging needs, drive the software development teams building these products, and support sales and marketing for successful product launches. Leveraging your product management expertise and understanding of industrial automation, you will be uniquely positioned to guide product direction and drive effective prioritization of our effort and resources. More specifically, your role will include the following responsibilities: Product management Conduct interviews with operators, controls engineers, integrators, and Vention's own commissioning team to understand application requirements, feature gaps, and real-world manufacturing constraints Conduct benchmarking of competing automation programming environments, low-code/visual tools, and AI-assisted development experiences Conduct analysis to inform new product specifications and evaluate the performance of existing capabilities (visual sequencing, code authoring, HMI building, robot programming, deployment, and debugging) Scope and maintain a unified product roadmap spanning all authoring surfaces, the operator interface layer, and supporting tooling Prepare detailed briefs for new features and capabilities, including technical requirements and business logic Help shape the platform's evolution toward AI-augmented authoring and a more unified developer experience, balancing near-term customer value against the longer-term platform direction Lead preparation for Quarterly Product Reviews Contribute to sales enablement material and train go-to-market teams (Account Executives, Application Engineers, Customer Success, etc.) Work closely with the marketing team to provide input for product launch campaigns Track and communicate key product metrics including feature adoption, time-to-deploy an application, program reliability, support ticket volume, and user satisfaction across personas Product ownership Organize and prioritize the ticket backlog across the visual editor, code editor, HMI, and supporting product workstreams Break product briefs for new capabilities down into sequenced tickets for efficient execution Prepare and host sprint kick-offs, ensuring the software teams support the scope and can successfully define the "how" Track and report timelines for each feature/product and measure team performance - Conduct business QA on new capabilities to ensure the user experience elevates the Vention platform Work with the software teams and HR to ensure teams are properly staffed with the expertise required to deliver the annual roadmap Support dev-team productivity by scheduling periods of technical debt / bug elimination (or allowing some refactoring as part of new feature development) Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, robotics, or equivalent - 3+ years of experience in product management in the context of developer tools, software platforms, robotics, industrial technologies, or another highly technical domain - Ability to bridge technical software teams and business stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into clear product requirements Strong analytical tool kit with the ability to analyze datasets and product usage data - Excellent internal/external stakeholder management skills Strong bias for speed and execution Strong project management and risk mitigation mindset, with demonstrated ability to build contingency plans and execute them Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds and good time managements
