Job Description: Title: Benefits Supervisor Division: Corporate - Human Resources - Benefits Status: Exempt Reports to: Director, Total Rewards Revision date: 04/2026 Supervises: Benefits Administrator, Leave Specialist PURPOSE According to prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and reporting to the Director of Total Rewards, the incumbent oversees the day‑to‑day administration and execution of the organization's employee benefit and leave programs, ensuring accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and consistent application across a multi‑state environment. This role is responsible for managing benefit implementations, maintaining operational workflows, and overseeing benefit and leave administration activities. The Benefits Supervisor provides hands‑on leadership to the benefits team, resolves escalated issues, and partners with internal stakeholders and vendors to support efficient, compliant, and reliable benefits operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Benefits Program Execution & Implementations Execute and support health & welfare and retirement plan initiatives in alignment with the company's Total Rewards strategy, including vendor implementations, system upgrades, plan design changes, and regulatory‑driven updates. Manage benefits-related projects from planning through completion, including timelines, testing, data validation, and stakeholder coordination. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and employee experience within existing benefits programs and processes. Annual & Ongoing Program Management Support and manage execution of the annual open enrollment process, including HRIS configuration & testing, vendor coordination, communications delivery, post-enrollment audits, and issue resolution. Oversee ongoing administration of benefit and retirement plans, payroll integration, reconciliations, and issue resolution. Partner with Finance, Payroll, and vendors to manage billing, funding, and audits. Leave of Absence & Compliance Oversight Oversee compliant administration of federal, state, and local leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, USERRA, workers' compensation related leaves, and state‑mandated paid leave programs. Serve as an escalation point for complex leave, accommodation, or compliance matters. Monitor legislative and regulatory updates and implement required operational or system changes in partnership with HR leadership and Legal. Team Leadership & Operational Support Supervise and develop the Benefits Administrator and Leave Specialist, providing coaching, prioritization, and performance feedback. Ensure consistent execution of day‑to‑day benefits and leave processes; provide hands‑on support during peak periods or coverage needs. Maintain clear process documentation, standard operating procedures, and internal controls. Systems, Data & Reporting Leverage HRIS, internal platforms, and vendor systems to ensure data accuracy, audit readiness, and efficient processing. Prepare and ensure accuracy of census reports, plan testing data, and vendor reports. Utilize advanced Excel skills to perform reconciliations, analyze benefits data, track compliance, and support decision‑making. Communication & Partnership Act as a knowledgeable resource on benefits operations, compliance, and best practices. Support development and delivery of clear, compliant employee communications related to benefits, leave, and retirement programs.
