Annual Salary Range: $64,000 to $70,000Location: Southeast Oklahoma Area (territory assigned will be in the Southeast Oklahoma Area and must live in that territory for consideration).Job DescriptionBasic PurposeTypical FunctionsInterprets state and federal laws and commission rules for agency and industry personnel and the general public.
Performs investigations and responds to complaints related to the release of natural gas or hazardous liquids from pipeline facilities; determines causes and recommends appropriate steps and procedures to lessen continued threats to public safety.
Responds to and investigates threats to public safety resulting from non-compliance with state and federal laws and agency policy.
Identifies and reports operational deficiencies and coordinates with operators and excavators to correct, ensuring compliance with guidelines and instructions.
Provides training and technical assistance to pipeline operators, excavators, employees, and the public on pipeline dangers, safety procedures and the proper use of emergency response equipment.
Prepares and/or reviews operational reports, daily work records, test results, construction reports, operations manuals and other required documentation.
Prepares exhibits and testifies as an expert witness in Commission hearings.
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Petroleum, or Civil Engineering
Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in the regulation, operation, and/or maintenance of natural gas distribution systems, natural gas transmission systems, and/or hazardous liquid pipeline systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Job Description
Core work hours for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission are Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. This schedule may require flexibility based on the needs of the agency.
***This position is not remote work eligible as the position requires hands-on and in-person work to complete the essential job functions.***
