About the role
You will serve as a Firefighter (Paramedic/Hazardous Materials Technician) of NAS PENSACOLA. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) controlling or extinguishing advanced fires involving structures, aircraft, and other complex hazards as a member of an organized fire department; 2) performing advanced rescue operations including vehicle extrication and confined space rescue; 3) providing Advanced Life Support (ALS) as a nationally registered Paramedic; 4) operating fire apparatus and communications equipment during emergency incidents; 5) controlling and mitigating complex hazardous materials incidents; and/or 6) participating in ongoing training in advanced firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical techniques. This position requires the incumbent to possess the following certifications: Firefighter I and II, Airport Firefighter, HAZMAT Technician, Driver Operator-Pumper, Driver Operator ARFF, Driver Operator Aerial, National Registry EMT (Paramedic), These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement.
