The City of Littleton believes in attracting and retaining the best talent, and its strategies include hiring at market pay and creating career development opportunities, we hire at or near the midpoint of the full pay ranges Hiring pay range for ENTRY level: $30.38 - $31.98 per hour Full pay range for ENTRY level: $23.99 - $39.98 per hour Hiring pay range for SENIOR level: $33.98 - $35.77 per hour Full pay range for SENIOR level: $26.83 - $44.71 This full-time position is non-exempt per FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Work Schedule: This full-time position will work 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. This position will participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide support as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responds to on-site emergencies promptly to ensure safety and operational continuity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs semi-skilled, skilled, and administrative duties in maintenance and repair of a wide variety of vehicles and equipment. Troubleshoots, identifies, and repairs related potential or existing problems. Performs general maintenance of passenger cars and light trucks including one-ton trucks; heavy trucks (Class 6 - 8) and off-road equipment; police vehicles, other emergency vehicles and related equipment. Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and adjusts and repairs to vehicles and equipment including, but not limited to diesel and gasoline engines, fuel systems, drive train components, pumps, brake systems, air conditioning systems, heating systems, exhaust systems, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, suspension and steering systems, and assemblies. Tunes gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered engines. Installs and repairs electrical, lighting, and general accessories. Prepares work orders, and documents parts used for vehicle maintenance and repair, creates records and reports related to fleet maintenance activities. Maintains work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and safe condition; responsible for reporting unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor. Reviews daily work assignments and reports daily work progress to supervisor. Responds, as necessary, to emergency calls to make temporary or permanent repairs or adjustments to city vehicles and equipment. Delivers work products and services within the assigned full-time work schedule. Performs janitorial tasks, as required, to maintain the cleanliness of fleet maintenance area. Performs welding or machine work necessary to fabricate parts or other components to complete repairs on assigned vehicles and equipment. Picks up and delivers vehicles, parts, and equipment as required. Performs other similar assignments and projects as required. May serve as an Emergency Worker.
