Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will lead daily food safety and quality assurance activities at the Darien manufacturing plant. You will provide hands‑on leadership to Quality Assurance technicians while working closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Sanitation to ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and continuous improvement. You will play a critical role in strengthening the food safety culture and ensuring products consistently meet company and regulatory standards. A Taste of Your Responsibilities Lead and prioritize daily Quality Assurance operations in support of production, including inspections, testing, and audit execution Supervise, coach, and develop quality team members to ensure consistent application of food safety and quality standards Monitor and verify Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points in accordance with established food safety plans Conduct Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation, and food safety audits across production and warehouse areas to maintain audit readiness Partner with Operations to proactively identify and resolve quality, food safety, and process concerns Verify that process controls and operational systems are functioning as intended and escalate gaps when identified Make product disposition decisions, including hold, release, and rework, in alignment with company policies and regulatory requirements Investigate nonconforming raw materials and finished goods, including damaged or returned product Lead or support customer complaint investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions Ensure Statistical Process Control practices and data integrity standards are followed Analyze quality data and trends to drive continuous improvement and defect reduction Support plant initiatives such as new product launches, equipment installations, and process validations Maintain compliance with Food and Drug Administration, United States Department of Agriculture when applicable, and internal audit standards Collaborate cross‑functionally to strengthen food safety culture and employee engagement Perform additional responsibilities as assigned Ingredients Required for Your Success High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field preferred 3 + years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food production Prior people leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of food safety systems, sanitation programs, and Good Manufacturing Practices Experience supporting internal and external audits, including regulatory, customer, or Global Food Safety Initiative benchmarked audits Working knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations Experience using data analysis and Statistical Process Control to support continuous improvement Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management systems Physical Requirements More information about essential tasks and the facility will be shared during the hiring process.
