Lead the preparation and filing of statutory financial statements under local GAAP for UK and Nordic entities, coordinating with internal and external shared service centers for audit-related requirements
Collaborate with Big4 and other external audit firms across UK and Nordic markets to understand requirements, establish timelines, and ensure compliance with local regulatory deadlines
Develop comprehensive audit plans for UK and Nordic entities based on auditor discussions and communicate plans to internal teams for efficient, timely execution
Support statutory audit processes across designated markets, collaborate on key audit issues, and provide periodic status updates to stakeholders
Work with Tax, Controller/hub teams, and regional stakeholders to gather and provide required information and clarifications for audit purposes
Ensure adherence to local accounting policies and implement standardized procedures across UK and Nordic markets to achieve regional consistency
Provide oversight of legal entities across the Northern European region, identify process improvement opportunities, and build strong relationships with key internal and external contacts
Assist team leadership with regional project-related initiatives and drive continuous improvement across the UK and Nordic controllership functions
Requirements
CA/ACCA qualified professional with minimum 3+ years of relevant experience, or an experienced accountant with 5+ years of statutory audit experience
Prior experience in a Big4 Audit firm is highly preferred
Strong understanding of FRS 102 and Nordic financial reporting requirements including Swedish (BFN), Danish (FSR), and Norwegian (NRS) accounting standards
Proficiency in statutory audit methodologies, compliance frameworks, and Oracle and NetSuite systems
Effectively manages multiple complex tasks across geographically dispersed markets and takes proactive initiative to enhance performance
Expertly handles complex client requests, builds trusted relationships with external auditors and internal stakeholders, and professionally manages expectations
