About the role

[What the role is] Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Academic Development) - School of Engineering [What you will be working on] Design, develop and deliver applied Statistics, Electronics, Design Thinking, Business Innovation, and/or entrepreneurship curricula to students. Work collaboratively in teams to foster culture of innovative and enterprising efforts among staff and develop entrepreneurship programmes to nurture entrepreneurial mindsets among learners. Lead and/or represent the school in committees such as in-reach, out-reach, academic operations and student development, as and when required. Identify and spearhead new opportunities, initiatives and collaborations within the polytechnic and/or with industry partners. Plan, lead, manage and undertake projects or co-developed training courses with internal and external stakeholders. Plan, develop and deliver Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes for adult learners and industry partners. Conduct and contribute to research efforts in teaching and learning. Perform academic, administrative and other related duties as assigned. Mentor and guide students in both academic and personal development. #LI-Hybrid [What we are looking for] A recognised tertiary qualification in Engineering or Statistics. At least 2 years of relevant work/industrial experience in a related field, preferably involving applications of Statistics, Electronics, Design Thinking or Entrepreneurship. Possess relevant knowledge and skills in the following areas: Design and development of curricula in applied Statistics, Electronics, Design Thinking, Business Innovation, and/or entrepreneurship Pedagogy and effective teaching/assessment practices, including design thinking and project-based learning Good IT skills and competency in working with online learning platforms and educational technology Use of Excel for data analysis, reporting and instructional support Strong communication and good interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task. Candidates who are conversant in blended learning, tech-enabled teaching tools, design thinking, entrepreneurship and project-based learning will have an advantage.
