Minimum of one (1) of the below qualifications required:
Associates degree in biomedical equipment or electronics and five (5) years experience.
Equivalent and measurable military training in the biomedical field. Manufacturing training may be considered.
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent field required.
Possess knowledge and understanding of safety regulations and compliance (CMMS, NFPA99, etc.) required. Demonstrated skill with various technical test and calibration equipment and manufacturer database programs (e.g. DVM, Oscilloscope, hand tools, or similar devices and programs, etc.) required.
CBET Certification preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology preferred.
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
Job Specific Duties
Responsible for repairs, preventative maintenance schedules, cleanings, calls for special servicing, evaluating service contracts, and ensuring equipment is available for safe operation.
Efficiently employs the use of various test and/or calibration equipment per department procedure and protocol.
Supports the introduction of new medical equipment by establishing, adjusting, calibrating, and testing performance prior to clinical use.
Maintains records on medical equipment, and prepares and organizes reports as necessary and/or requested.
Assists department leadership in researching and obtaining proper medical equipment to meet the needs of the department and overall goals of Logan Health.
In collaboration with leadership, may represent the department in various committees and meetings as requested.
Serves as subject matter expert in regards to equipment. Professionally takes initiative, exercises independent judgement and troubleshoots equipment without direct supervision.
