Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $61,177.00 - $91,767.00 Recruitment Range: $70,000.00 - $88,348.00 * Limited-Time Sign-On Bonus for RN Roles (Nursing Department Only) Total: $35,000 - $15,000 in first paycheck after start date - $10,000 after 12 months of service - $10,000 after 18 months of service For a limited time period, DSOHF is offering increased sign-on bonuses for eligible Nursing Department positions, including health care technicians (CNAs) and patient-facing nursing roles who apply between June 1st - August 31st, 2026. Bonus is only available at State Psychiatric Hospitals and does not apply to administrative, educator, or non-direct care nursing positions. Installments are paid in accordance with requirements outlined in sign-on bonus agreement. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred: Ability to independently plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans. Knowledge of medications and the physiological effect of those medications. Ability to communicate information in a concise and descriptive manner, verbally, written, or by demonstration. Ability to appropriately respond to emergency situations. Conditional Requirements: Advanced Physical Skills (APS) certification through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR certification within 60 days. Valid driver's license. This position is Exempt from certain provisions of The State Human Resources Act (GS 126) This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
