Direct the activities of the accounting department in accordance with GAAP, including personnel assignments, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
Oversee payroll processing and approvals within the Finance Department
Ensure timely and accurate submission of all corporate financial reporting requirements
Perform monthly variance analysis, evaluate financial performance, and identify cost overruns and cost reduction opportunities, including product costing, departmental budgets, and inventory valuation
Maintain the integrity of the costing system and ensure effective internal controls
Participate in and support SAP ERP system implementation and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements related to information systems and business reporting
Serve as an active member of the plant leadership team, contributing to decision-making, policy development, and strategic planning
Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve productivity, efficiency, and service levels
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Minimum 7+ years of operational accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
Manage and oversee percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting for engineered-to-order projects, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and compliance with GAAP
Review and approve daily and monthly revenue recognition activities
Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as SAP or other MRP platforms
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access)
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret financial data and drive insights
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Proven ability to work both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience
Experience supporting manufacturing operations, cost accounting, and inventory management
Demonstrated experience driving process improvement and financial transformation initiatives
Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
