Conducts internal and external outreach activities which includes but is not limited to health fairs, screening events, health council meetings, and speaker requests
Coordinate to ensure staffing, logistics, and materials are prepared for outreach events
Track program participation by gathering data and using an electronic database program
Creates, controls and ensures that health care information is distributed at education and outreach programs
Evaluates programs; performs research on relevant topics and develops and/or revises curriculum modules and/or presentation materials as appropriate
Coordinate health education programs and services with staff of other departments and organizations
Assist in developing and designing health education materials as needed
Track and assess program impact including development of online surveys and evaluation reports
Conduct surveys, make presentations and use media to promote cancer prevention and control
Participate in projects relating to cancer education

Job Summary:
As part of the multidisciplinary Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) Community Outreach and Engagement team the Health Educator represents VICC in developing connections with community partners to identify opportunities for education. Responsible for facilitating and supporting community engagement through developing, conducting, and evaluating cancer-related health education activities. Flexibility to travel regionally and routinely attend weekend and evening activities required.
