Job Description Building trusted markets - powered by our people At Cboe Global Markets, we inspire our people to solve complex challenges together because what we do matters. We provide the financial infrastructure that powers the global economy. As a leading provider of market infrastructure and tradable products, Cboe delivers cutting-edge trading, clearing and investment solutions to market participants around the world. We're building meaningful ways to support professional and personal development while strengthening the trust we've earned as a global market leader. Our teams are empowered to share ideas, actively pursue them and bring on a challenge. As champions of internal mobility and access to opportunity, we encourage our people to "go for it" and equip our managers with the training to coach their teams to the next level. We strive to provide employees a safe space to network, share ideas and create opportunities. Sound like the place for you? Join us! Role Overview A core member of Cboe's global infrastructure organization, the NOC Engineer is a highly technical, hands-on engineer responsible for supporting, operating, and improving the reliability, performance, and fairness of network connectivity across all trading platforms - including on-premises and cloud environments. This role is designed for experienced network technologists who combine deep networking fundamentals with foundational cloud engineering awareness, modern automation, AI-assisted tooling, and software-driven operations. Cboe's network function operates as a multi-tier, customer-focused engineering team that bridges Network Engineering, Security Engineering, Systems Engineering, and the Trade Desk. Network Engineers provide world-class technical support while also acting as true engineers - owning complex troubleshooting, customer connectivity onboarding, real-time monitoring, incident response, change execution, and escalation management for a highly distributed, latency-sensitive global network. A defining element of this role is its strong emphasis on AI-enabled operations and automation. Network Engineers actively design, build, and maintain intelligent tooling using Claude Code, Python, and APIs to modernize alerting, accelerate root cause analysis, reduce mean time to repair (MTTR), and eliminate repetitive operational work. A strong understanding of API-driven automation is a core requirement, and experience building or operating agent-based automation is considered a strong differentiator. This role is expected to contribute directly to the evolution of a next-generation, software-driven network and cloud operations function. Network Engineers work independently with minimal supervision, collaborate directly with customers' network engineers and internal infrastructure teams, and serve as escalation points for junior staff. Candidates must be comfortable supporting critical infrastructure during extended shifts and participating in an on-call or escalation rotation as required. Success in this role requires technical depth across routing, MPLS, firewall technologies, and packet-level troubleshooting, as well as operational judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex telemetry and packet-level data into clear, actionable outcomes for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role operates on a structured shift schedule to support Cboe's global follow-the-sun coverage model. Shifts are structured on a Wednesday-Sunday or Friday-Tuesday basis to ensure overlapping regional support and continuous weekend coverage. Schedules may also adjust periodically throughout the year in alignment with daylight saving time changes across regions. Major Job Duties Customer Connectivity Engineering & Network Provisioning - 25% Engineer, onboard, and certify customer connectivity across global data centers and cloud environments, including physical circuits, AWS networking, decommissioning, and entitlement‑based market data access. Configure and deploy production network changes to edge routing, customer-facing infrastructure, and cloud network constructs (e.g., VPCs, subnets, routing tables, security groups, and transit gateways). Develop familiarity with cloud-hosted connectivity components and assist in provisioning and validating cloud network changes in support of customer onboarding activities. Partner with customer network engineers and internal data center and cloud teams to test and validate trade entry and market data connectivity across on‑prem and cloud platforms. Participate in internal and industry‑wide testing events, including scheduled weekend change windows and customer certification activities. Support internal and external ticket queues for network and firewall connectivity requests spanning colocation, backbone, and cloud environments. Supporting, configuring and troubleshooting network protocols such as: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, PIM Sparse Mode, HSRP and other common n
